A Motorcycle Couples Photoshoot on the California Coast
There’s something about the California coast that makes the perfect backdrop for a couples session—especially when you add a motorcycle, rugged scenery, and the Pacific Ocean. For this motorcycle couples photoshoot, we chose a beautiful stretch of the Bay Area coastline with sweeping ocean views and rocky surroundings that complemented the adventurous feel of the session.
The result was a session that felt romantic, relaxed, and completely personal to the two of them.

Rather than planning a traditional couples session, we incorporated their motorcycle into the photos and let it become part of the story. Bringing something personal into your session is one of my favorite ways to create images that feel distinctly yours.
The motorcycle gave us so many opportunities to create different moments throughout the session. Some photographs felt a little more intentional and composed, while others came naturally as the two of them interacted together. We incorporated details like their motorcycle helmet while also taking advantage of the rocky landscape and expansive ocean views surrounding us.
And the California coast definitely gave us a few surprises of its own.
Surfers caught waves in the distance, birds flew overhead, and at one point, we even spotted a whale offshore. There was even a helicopter passing over the water during the session. These little unscripted moments are part of what I love about photographing couples outdoors—you never quite know what might become part of the story.
